Physical Layer
This is the physical 'shell', 'platform' or 'hull' of a spacecraft.
It acts as a foundation describing the size and functionality of a design.
This layer is essential, and will provide protection to both equipment and occupants. It is likely that it will form a large contribution towards the environmental layer.
It provides a platform to attach all physical equipment including power sources, drive motors and other essential components of a working machine that represents a spacecraft.
additionally it will serve to provide protection for its component parts and its cargo and occupants
Yet on it's own, it is nothing more than space debris...
